The Calder School is a San Francisco educational organization rooted in music, disciplined study, creativity, and practical innovation.
We provide direct one-on-one piano instruction for students ages four and older, with both in-person and online learning available. Lessons meet students where they are and help them build technique, musicianship, confidence, and a lifelong relationship with music.
Piano instruction

Students can learn in San Francisco or connect remotely, making consistent, individualized study available wherever they are.
Ages four and older
Young beginners, developing musicians, and adult learners receive clear guidance appropriate to their goals and experience.
Performance matters
Regular recitals give learning a stage.
Music becomes more meaningful when it is shared. Calder School students are encouraged to prepare, perform, listen, and celebrate one another through regular recital opportunities.

The Calder School’s musical life spans teaching, performance, composition, and international exchange. Its teaching tradition includes work with students in San Francisco and masterclasses presented for musicians in other parts of the world.
